No Sound on Suse linux


The installation of Mplayer was succesfull by installing it with Yast. Now I'm palying an mp3.., but now I don't hear any sound coming out my speakers...not even alert sounds and not even startup sound..I have a soundblaster live 24 bit..it was detected in the beginning and now also..this is my default soundcart. I'm a newbie with linux..

Help!!!

try running alsaconf at a shell prompt

Since thanks to KimVette.
It took me lot of hasstle to install MPlayer on Suse 9.3, and the only remaining issue so far was a complete sound blackout.
