Well i just installed Fedora 2 and I go to gnomes webby and the download page has a lot of packages I don't even know where to start anyone point me in the right direction?
Look for documentation/install instructions on their website. Generally, the order of the listed packages is the order of installation as well. If there are READMEs or INSTALLs, read those before you begin installing.
There is a program called garmone that download and compile gnome sources with gnome 2.6, but i don't know if you can use it whit gnome 2.8. I think you can find it in gnome web page.
