I made my big desicion. No more MS Windows for me!I am gonna erase that partition(winXP)! I wanna remove my boot loader (lilo) so that whenever i start my pc it starts linux! How do i do that?
It is possible to remove the bootloader completely, but that is not what you want to do (trust me!).
Just edit /etc/lilo.conf, set the default to the correct boot option and the delay to 1. Comment out any lines which make lilo look pretty (bitmaps etc.) and run the /sbin/lilo command to commit the changes.
Now your system will boot straight to Linux without delay.
Setting 'timeout=0' or commenting it out will only make the computer wait forever if you leave in the 'prompt' line. If you comment out 'prompt' and 'delay=#', then it will boot immediately, no matter what value is set in 'timeout=#'.
