nis server log

hi,
we have centos 5.2 server where we have nis setup. But yp log (/var/log/yp.log) logs garbage characters and isv frequency is very high. This is love environment, hence ypserv can not be restarted. Is there any other solution? There is nothing related to verbosity of yp log in config file. how to get rid of it?
thanks in advanve.
