newbie: webmin will not start in browser

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Fedora 8 with firefox 3.
sendmail-8.14.1-4.2.fc8
webmin-1.430-1

terminal window says sendmail is running fine, and Webmin is running fine.

[root@tonycorp ~]# service sendmail status
sendmail (pid 2647) is running...
sm-client (pid 2656) is running...

[root@tonycorp ~]# service webmin status
webmin (pid 2262) is running

To use webmin I was told to start my browser and go to:
http s:// localhost: 10000
but firefox says:

Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to localhost:10000.
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
The page you are trying to view can not be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
* Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem.

I'm stumped. Anyone got any ideas? I've been trawling through google and hammering away at this for hours with no success and it's driving me nuts.
Thanks if you can help.

I believe you need to install the SSLeay pearl module.

libnet-ssleay-perl - Perl module for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

You may have to uninstall webmin and re-install it after the ssleay pearl library is installed, in order to get things working.

Yum should have taken care of this requirement for you already.. how did you install webmin ?

thanks again for your advice, I managed to botch my way through this in newbie fashion and now it works. I installed the perl thing like you said (I think) but I still got the SSL error in my browser. So instead of https://...I tried http:// and that worked. I'm now in webmin. Next job is to work out how to get postfix going....
