New Linux user


I have downloaded Virtual Linux 2.4.16 (Tiger) and have run setup.
When I start up again with "2" I canīt get into windows.
It stop with this messages:
INIT: id "x" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes.
When it ask for login I enter "root" for the first time and after I do not know what I shall inter?

Please help?

Hello there. Welcome to LQ!

I don't quite understand what happend. Virtual Linux is a live cd if I am not mistaken. Did you (try) to install it on you harddrive?
What do mean by

Do you mean to say that when you get a menu right after you startup your computer, it lets you choose between linux and windows but it is unable to get into windows?

It looks like your unable to start x. When you get on the prompt (after you have logged in as 'root'), type "startx" and see what happens.
Also, post the specifications of your hardware (CPU type and speed, graphics card, ect, ect)
