New GTK apps doesn't use GNOME theme

My box is CentOS 4.2 (GTK 2.4 & GNOME 2.8) and I compiled GTK 2.8.13 in /try.

I compiled some apps with the GTK 2.8.13, lauch it, and I see they don't uses my GNOME theme clearlooks.

Any idea how to solve this problem? Did I miss something or this is my GNOME issue?

I don't know too much about this, but I think you should look into GTK documentation on where it is normally installed (if you didn't use ./configure --prefix=/try. I'm positive that /try is a non-standard location, so most likely the problem is that the apps can't find where GTK is installed. You would want to create a symbolic link to /try in the standard location for GTK so that the apps can find it.
