Angry Nero disabled cd-r


Hello,

I am pretty new to this linux thing and so far so good. However when i installed Nero it disabeled my burner because i had scsi emulation going i was wonderif if their is any way to disable the emulation. I did edit my lilo.conf file and erased the scsi emulation command however issue still remains any help is much appreciated...

Did you install NeroLinux? If yes, their web page says it is supported under Suse, RedHat (Fedora) and Debain. According to your post you are running Vector Linux. You may have some compatibility problem.

If your CD drive is an IDE drive, you need scsi emulation running. There is a long history on that, I don't know all the details, but I believe you need it.

I would suggest you look into using K3B. It is available for most distro, and works very well.
