Cool need to restore ipod

I need to have my ipod restored back to the factory settings. I've tried using wine to run the ipod updater so i could restore it, but i keep getting an error saying "iPod service error"

I am using version 0.9.16 for wine, and i have an ipod nano. It IS connected to the computer when i am attempting to do this. any suggestions?

Check the Gentoo wiki, there is an article in there on native ways to reset your iPod after a failed experiment. It's a bit hack-ish but it works.
