Does it has dvd drive or usb port?

There are many Linux distro's available to install.

You may try Debian. Get it from here.

If you go to the distrowatch site, you can see what the most popular linux distributions are and pick the one that you fancy most. Currently Mint leads the field in the Page Hit ranking; Debian is third.

Also you might want to check the hardware compatibility listings here on site.

Hello and welcome to LQ.

Yes, some of those netbooks need a bit of special attention to get it working well. \

This page is about the original distro maybe. At the bottom it has links to some other good choices. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne

Although this page is a few years old, it should still provide you with a set of choices. http://www.everydaylinuxuser.com/201...stems-for.html

And from that http://www.everydaylinuxuser.com/201...g-systems.html

Basically you'd want a 32 bit version and what we call a lightweight window manager.

If you knew more about your hardware maybe we could narrow it down.

You should be able to run some live distro's to test.
