getting libshift.so files

I need library files "libshift.so.2.0" and "libg2c.so.0" for running a program named "garfield-9". How can I get these library files. My Linux is redhat 7.3.

Depending on you distro, they may be in a repository---as part of a package. Otherwise you can find them on the net.

Simply type the filename into Google. This will lead to to site that will tell you what package they are in--or allow you to download directly.

<<<Hmmmm--just tried it for libshift and the answer is not immediately obvious---you will need to sift thru the thread for clues>>>

It would be "better" too keep all questions related to one problem (Garfield-n and libshift.so) together as much as possible. It would also be "good" to fill in your account details, minimally distribution and release info as it will help people who try to help you.

libshift.so is for instance here: http://castor.web.cern.ch/castor/DIS....slc3.i386.rpm. If you trust CERN you could test installation with "rpm --test -i http://castor.web.cern.ch/castor/DIST/CERN/savannah/CASTOR-compat.pkg/castor-lib-compat-2.0.2-1.slc3.i386.rpm". To install remove the "--test" flag.
