Need help installing...

Trying to install Krb5-libs1.2.7

rpm -Uvh krb5-1.2.7-10.src.rpm

and keep getting this

error: cannot create %sourcedir /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES

am i using the wrong rpm cuz i dont know if i need the src.rpm or just the regular rpm.
whats the difference?

Have you tried as root? Might not have the kernel headers or sources either in /usr/src like the error message your getting could indicate.

Yea im always in root when i install programs

Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass those 2 files so i can install the develpment packages from the RH9 disks?

krb5-libs
OpenSSL
