Need a Firefox plugin to play mp3s

I'm using SuSE 10.0, and I'd like a Firefox plugin that will play mp3s without launching a separate application instance. The reason for this is that I'm taking a language class with hundreds of links to audio clips, and I want to be able to play them with minimal overhead.

I thought RealPlayer played mp3s, but it doesn't seem to do so. Does anyone have any suggestions for an audio player or any guidance on how to set up the plugin?

mplayer is your very best friend when it comes to browser plugins for media files in Linux. You will learn to love mplayer!
