ndiswrapper 1.1Problems

Hey everyone. I was running Fedora Core 3 on kernel 2.6.9 when my computer decided it wa time to upgrade to 2.6.10. I used up2date to install the kernel. After I restarted, I noticed my internet wasn't working, so I tried to reinstall ndiswrapper-1.1. I uninstalled, and then reinstalled following the directions at http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/w...hp?Installtion. I got to the part where I am supposed to load the module. So I typed in modprobe ndiswrapper and got an eror saying the module was the incorrect format. Can anybody help me? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
shimano55

If you just upgraded the kernel you'll have to recompile the module. Depending on what kernel you had before, you may be able to just copy it. I think that 2.6.* uses .so and 2.4.* used a different extension.

download the file
untar it
cd to folder
then type the following two commands:
make
su -c 'make install'
enter the root password
that will install it
ndiswrapper -l <--list the drivers installed, if you were using it before your settings may still be there. If not then ->
ndiswrapper -i driver.inf
finally
modprobe ndiswrapper

the detailed instructions are at the website for ndiswrapper.
