MythTV on Mandrake 10

Hello. I am trying to install mythtv on Mandrake 10. Since I am a newbie, I need, please, some help. What I need is a step by step guide to install it on my system.
I would be very pleased if someone helps me. Thank you!

The file I downloaded from Internet is: mythtv-0.14

Take care.

your best bet is to either go here
http://rpm.nyvalls.se/graphics10.0.html
and download the rpm's

or go here and set urpmi up and use the command (as root)
http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php
urpmi mythtv
to set it up

urpmi will install it as well as downloading it

there will be an entry in the Multimedia/Video menu

you may need to run mythtv-setup from the command line first
(as root)
or type
man mythtv
for the manual

OK. I will try that at home and then I will tell you. Until now, I couldn't find any executable file after installing mythtv. Is that ok or where should I look for?

Take care.

that means that the urpmi sources don't have myth-tv

http://rpm.nyvalls.se/graphics10.0.html

go here and download it manually

I am having problems finding all the dependencies for the rpms. I feel like it is a big rpm game to find all these files and eventually I get stuck.
Is there an easier way in mandrake 10 to install mythtv?

I was able to get freevo working only because of the easy command to download and compile it

type the following into the command line as root

urpmi.addmedia thacs.rpms http://rpm.nyvalls.se/9.1/RPMS with hdlist.cz

when it's finished type (as root)

urpmi mythtv

any dependencies you can't get from here

search for from http://rpm.pbone.net

I would suggest you post a new thread called something like "mythtv database errors"

I have installed mythtv but couldn't get my tvcard to work under linux so didn't get mythtv working

ya - I fixed that -I didn't set up the Mysql

But now I am getting a message saying "could not cnnect to the master backend server-- is it running? Is the IP Address set for in the setup program correct?'

And there are some xml connecting issues I think I can deal with
