mysteriously logged out of kde (debian sarge)

For the past few days I've been using kalarm as my alarm clock with no problems. Yesterday evening I rearranged my panel a bit, added a child, lots of buttons for launching programs and the kBinaryClock applet, then I went to sleep.

When I woke up in the morning (1 1/2 hours late) I moved my mouse to wake up the monitor and was confronted by the GDM login screen, My kalarm had not gone off because I had been logged out of kde.

When I logged in again it had problems loading the kBinaryClock. I checked my uptime which is two days, so that means that only kde has crashed not the whole computer. Could the kBinaryClock have been at fault? Where does kde keep it's crash log files?

Thank you for you attention :-)
- Jessica
