MySQL Problems
Right, So I finally worked out the firewall problem I was having (reformatted and it was fixed), I went about installing the programs again and well, i think im stumped.
After having phpMyAdmin not be able to find MySQL's socket, and not having a my.conf file anywhere on my computer (which mysql.com claims is the conf file), I tried to erase/reinstall MySQL (seemed logical). Well, after uninstalling/reinstalling i'm REALLY stumped... someone try to figure this one out for me:
[root@ServerBox root]# rpm -qa | grep MySQL MySQL-client-4.0.20-0
MySQL-shared-compat-4.0.18-0
MySQL-devel-4.0.20-0
MySQL-server-4.0.20-0
[root@ServerBox root]# rpm -e MySQL-shared-compat-4.0.18-0.i386.rpm MySQL-client-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm MySQL-devel-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm MySQL-server-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm
error: package MySQL-shared-compat-4.0.18-0.i386.rpm is not installed
error: package MySQL-client-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm is not installed
error: package MySQL-devel-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm is not installed
error: package MySQL-server-4.0.20-0.i386.rpm is not installed
