Hello,

I am new to Linux and I am trying to install MySQL on Fedora 3. I used the "yum install mysql-server" and have managed to download:

"public key not available for //var/cache/yum/updates-released/packages/mysql-ser ver-3.23.58-16.FC3.1.i386.rpm
public key not available for //var/cache/yum/updates-released/packages/mysql-3.2 3.58-16.FC3.1.i386.rpm
public key not available for //var/cache/yum/base/packages/perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003 -5.i386.rpm

Now here is the error I get when trying to install the perl package:

"[root@linux packages]# rpm -ivh perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-5.i386.rpm
warning: perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-5.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 4f2a6fd2
error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-5.i386"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

I would think that MySQL is on the Fedora installation cd/dvd, perhaps not installed by default. You should look there first, and use the Fedora package manager to select and install MySQL-server, client, and the Perl module.

The error about libmysqlclient basically says that MySQL client must be installed before the Perl part will install.
