mysql

I use Xandros 3.0 which came with mysql installed. I even updated it using apt-get. I cannot however connect to the db server. I checked under services and it is not listed there so I assume it is not started yet. I cannot find a way to start it as a service (or any other service for that matter). How do I start a service in Xandros?

To start MySQL usually involves starting the server with /usr/bin/mysqld_safe, then start the client from the command line with /usr/bin/mysql.

To have the server started as a service on boot, check the Xandros documentation. It should be discussed somewhere.
