multi display video playback - xine

i have half of my desktop on my moniter and half on my tv (s-video).
when i start up xine it would only show video on my moniter and the portion of the xine window on my tv would be blacked out. if i dragged the xine window completely to my tv it would show video on the tv.

if i start another xine it would span across both displays but will be very choppy and the controls will take very long to respond (i usually kill it). the playback will continue to be choppy even if i close the first instance of xine.

anybody experiment with multi display video playback?
