I have md9.2.....trying to run mplayer...I install it using rpm package tool.
Seems to install correctly. When I activate program in root or home user, the program instantly flashes on screen and then is gone. Any ideas. It is not running in the background. It used to be okay, although I never got to the point of configuring to work properly, but @ least it stayed up and running.
i had the same problem with kde..
so i explain my solution...
try to disable the arts sound server at startup... It is default to start..
You can do that in Control Center...
When mplayer tries to probe the sound server it will hang forever ....
i just switched off and worked...
