MP3DirectCut, Linux equivalent?

I use MP3DirectCut very often for editing mp3 files without having to re-encode them. It is a windows program which works well under wine but does anyone know if there is a linux equivalent?

As far as I am aware audacity re-encodes which potentially will degrade the recording.

For normalization, there is a command line program called mp3gain, which has a GTK+ frontend called EasyMP3Gain. For trimming silence, I think you can use mp3splt. I'd like a program that also supports vorbis and FLAC.
