mkroot dev: label/not found


i have just installed fedora core4, after completion of
succesfull install,when the system restarts i get the following
error
messages....

i get these messages after kernel booting starts

mkroot dev: label/not found
mount: erroe 2 mounting ext 3
ERROR opening /dev/console!!!!:2

error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 0
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 1
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 2

switchroot : mount failed : 22
kernel panic-not syncing : Attempted to kill init!

then system hangs from here.....

the partitions of linux starts from hda7, i use 80gb HDD and i have
installed XP on C: drive


What is the probable problem?

Did you have any lucky with this trouble ?

I just installed FC4 in my AMD64 system with the same trouble, I used an external USB drive for instalation with the grub loader starting linux from there, and I am almost sure that the trouble was the atipical USB for instalation.
