Mirroring a hard drive

This is probably a simple question...

How do you mirror hard disks with Linux

do u just want a backup of an entire filesystem if so i use mkisofs or the cat command read the man pages

I just want to perform and exact mirrored hard disk...like what Norton Ghost does for pc.
