Micromedia flash look a like for Linux


Hi

Is there any GPL software for Linux that is similar to or does what Micromedia Flash does? or any anmiations?

good question. if i understand you correctly you want an editor/creator rather than the player, right?
i hope this will steer others in the right direction.

hisnubmer666 is def correct - that’s what I meant... sorry, if I was that miss-leading with my questions - let me rephrase and I hope to get it right this time:

I am looking for graphic software, program, which would allow me to create animations or Micromedia look a like websites

is quite informative and mentions a few open-source tools. You can also search freshmeat

for some projects/utilities for creation of .swf files. I don't see any serious rivals to Flash at this stage tho'.

There is a open standard for vector graphics called SVG (scalable vector graphics) with an XML like syntax. There are some browser plugins to render this, but again I don't know of anything that would let you produce useful animations and the like.
