Media Server
All I want to do is stream from Linux to Windows, to XBOX, PS3 and eventually my network television in January.
I have moved all my files to my Centos box in hopes that it would be a small hassle to get it to share media to all my clients. One Linux runs way faster than Windows, and another I tend to use my windows box a lot so it usually kills connection if 3 concurrent users are streaming movies.
Well I tried Media Share, failed at using mysql commands. Tried ushare couldn't get the thing to start ushare x I think gave some kind of error and | ushare <not the complete command> gave nothing, because it was not started.
Okay so than I tried VLC It says it does streaming, but the setups I see are not that in depth as step by step.
If any is streaming media with linux please let me know what program you use <free> and how to setup it up with dummy step by steps. Thanks.
As well even though it should be no big deal, just a bunch of typing, if I could I would like for the program to check sub folders as my movies and music are categorized with many subfolders. If not I will just spend a week typing.
