If you are using Fedora Core, download apt and synaptic from
freshrpms and then run "apt-get update" as root in a comand line. You can then either install packages using synaptic or using the command line. If installing via the command line, the commands you need are "apt-get install mplayer". You also need to inctall libdvdcss if it is not installed alongside mplayer. This will enable you to play encrypted videos. Another media player you may wish to try is xine.
