mdadm spare drive

Hi All.

Been running software raid 1 on my Ubuntu 12.4 box happily. I would like to know if I can now add a spare drive with out doing a rebuild.

I have installed the drive and copied the partitions but not sure how to add this to the raid now as a spare

Any advise here would be good

Thanks

Glenn

Should be something like:
Code:
mdadm /dev/md1 --add /dev/sdc1
where md1 is the raid array and sdc1 is the partition you want to add as a spare.
