MATLAB crashing on 64-bit OS

I use ssh to login to a department server which has MATLAB installed. My computer is an AMD 64 bit with a 32 bit version of FC4. The server runs a 64 bit version of SUSE. Earlier MATLAB used to be installed on a server with a 32bit OS. I had no problems running MATLAB on the 32 bit server. However, in the 64 bit server, MATLAB crashes randomly and quite often. The crash dump file is below. The crash dump file has been sent to MATHWORKS but the administrator of the server wishes to migrate back to a 32 bit OS.

My question is: Is this a problem with the 64 bit version? Might a multilib OS solve the problem?
