Mapping Software?

Does anyone know of a Linux replacement for MapPoint? If so where do I get it?

I have SuSE 10.0

Thanks.

Don't know what Map Point is exactly...
It seems like you want to do mapping, tracking, possibly more. But there are many possibilities for GIS and Mapping suites, including many of the big boys like ArcMap with Network Analyst Extensions from ESRI which have full Linux versions. Is this the kind of stuff you are looking for?

Not sure what you use it for, but after looking at MSN's Map Point, which pulls up null for me in IE and FireFox, I think Google has a solution to Virtual Earth. Google Earth will have a linux version and is probably massively better than anything Map Point can do.(Though the MSN Virtual Earth is similiar to Google Earth) And FYI both of those are based on ESRI's ArcGlobe software suite.

LOL

I am looking at the type of mapping that you do in geography. I want something resident on my hard-drive that will allow me to plan routes and trips.

MapPoint does this.

Thanks Shirt.
