Hi,

I'm quite new to LINUX !!When I got started everything looked fine. I got the following message :

Driver installation for disk/ide|scsi|hardware_RAID|firewire nVidia Corp card.

I waited for a while but my screen was frozen and the installation stopped.

I have a brand new 61 bits 9NPA EPOX motherboard with 1 Go of RAM and an Athlon 3000.Presently XP is on an IDE IBM 60Go HD.I have 2 additional SATA MAXTOR 80 Go HDs . I am trying to install Mandrake on one of them.

My distribution version is ok.I have verified the checksum.I suspect the problem is somewhere else.

Is there anyone who could help ??

I had a problem with mandrake, I just typed this at the boot prompt:

I think, you'll just have to reconfigure the bootloader after that. I don't know how though because thats where I got stuck!

Is it failing during the install process or after? I have a Suse box that I have to boot into safe mode to be able to use the screen locally. If you're getting through the initial install, you can try that option.
