Mandrake installation

hi,

i recently obtained a mandrake 10.0 distro in 3 cds and tried to install it in my computer (amd 1700+ 256 ddr ram). first, the distro would not boot off cd drive. then i tried floppy based intallation. the boot screen came alive, and after pressing enter, it gave a message like this
"could not uncompress second stage ramdisk"
then it shut down automatically

what should i do?

Did you change your settings in your BIOS so that it would boot from CD, not HDD? And make sure that CD 1 is clean...

How did you obtain the cds? through internet? If so, did you check the md5sum of all iso files?

- if you got iso-images of the internet it would be nice to download the md5sum file too (short file) and give then the following command in a terminal or console: md5sum -c the_md5sum_file_you_obtained_also

It will check the iso's and then you can be sure that you obtained the iso-images corretly.

Because the above seems to me that the cd has a problem.
