Mandrake 8.1 install

Mandrake 8.1 installed in a flash but glitches, mainone being HardDrake freezes, freezes the system - so I reinstall with a different hardrive and get same results. My PC is Soya K7VIA Bd with AMD Athlon 650, Daytona SIS 32meg Video, Samsung 4.3 HDD, USRob5610 hardware modem (that won't work but that's a different topic) I feel that if I can get HardDrake up, the rest should fall in place. No reply yet from 'Team HardDrake.' I have 6 PCs that I've built over 10 years but mostly MSoft experience.

when are you trying to use hardDrake ?? are you able to close it and try to reopen it, or do you have to reboot cause the whole machine freezes ??

actually linux likes hardware modems.. if its not a winmodem.. probably at least a 95% chance it will work..
