malfunctioning SCSI

Hello all, Is it possible for one malfunctioning SCSI device to affect other SCSI device connected on the same adapter or PC? Say for example, I had a SCSI tape backup system with a malfuctioning robotic tape switching controller, could it knock out my SCSI drives temporarily? Sorry for the vague details. I experienced an unexplained occurance on one of my servers. I would appreciate any help with this matter. Thank you.

Depending on how they misbehave (if the SCSI controller
on the device gives wrong signal levels, for example, or
feeds term power to the bus when it really shouldn't) that
may well affect the entire bus, causing all kinds of strange
behaviour.

Cheers,
Tink

P.S.: This is actually a hardware question ;)

Thanks for the heads up, Tink. But the SCSI is working fine now, which makes me think that term power wasn't being fed to the bus. THat just sounds like a major problem that could cause serious damage, unless I am misunderstanding. The hardware is fine now and there is no damage to the device.
