i am making a new help file for the operating system which we are developing in linux.i tried to make this help file in front page but once we were opening the pages and the links they were not opening in linux.please guide me as to what will be the best application suited for making a help file which can open in linux having html format.in addition to that please also tell me whether i can perform the following operations in that application and how to perform them.following are the operations:
1. copy and paste of text.
2. inserting a background image in the page.
3. copy and paste of the images/photograps/screenshot in the page from anywhere.
4. converting the text into pdf format
5. making hyperlinks.

please tell me whether i can perform the same operations with the bluefish editor and kwrite editor and how.please post them as soon as possible.i want to know the basics so if u can tell them in steps i will be highly grateful

We are not here to snap to attention whenever a question is posted.... If you are in a hurry, I trust you have already done your Googling

Help files are made in all manner of formats--html being very common. Also, look at how Linux does the man pages.

You are trying to do the very most basic things in any OS in the most basic and remedial of Windows WYSIWYG editors and you can't do this:
Quote:
1. copy and paste of text.
2. inserting a background image in the page.
3. copy and paste of the images/photograps/screenshot in the page from anywhere.
4. converting the text into pdf format
5. making hyperlinks.
Sorry, but we are not here to teach you how to make a simple webpage in FrontPage, which would take the average computer literate person all of 10 minutes to figure out all this.

Having reread it, it appears, you now wish to do this in Linux... Which still should be pretty easy, but I highly recommend just learning to code HTML, as all but #4 can be done in the most basic HTML. Then for 4, you can use Latex.

I just noticed that your "bump" post was only 3 minutes after the original. After that bit of impatience, now you are not responding to us. Credibility dropping fast.......
