Making synaptic ignore broken packages ????

Hi all,

A "BIG THANKS" in advance ...

I have installed synaptic successfuly.. the problem however is

if i am trying to install or update any package ---> it is trying to remove a package which i need [eventhough it tells me that I have a dependency problem ... ]

How do i make it to ignore the packages it's telling it'll remove?????

Any Help Appreciated.....

maybe you can circumvent synaptic and somehow use apt-get to force the install?
