Making Fedora 4 portable

Hi,
I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd say hi first.

I've installed fedora 4 on my Usb HD (maxtor 200GB) and I can log on to it easily enough booting from a cd, but I want to be able to boot it from any pc without having to chane the order of the booting devices on the pc, because I have a crap web connection at home but a really good connection at work (which is free).

Is there a way of doing this or am I just mad???

Are you able to set up bios to boot directly from usb device? If not i fear there is no chance by doing it without the boot cd.

Its a boot cd I want to creat but I havn't needed 1 before because I just build a pc or update an old 1..
Will a boot cd work if the bios is set to floppy.. hd.. then cd.. I've seen the computers at work like tht..
