make errors in slack...

I´m quite new to linux, and I´m using slackware... Thes may sound stupid, bu what the heck? If youre suppose to learn linux, why not learn the best dist? =)

Anyway, about three quarters of every time I try to install (make) a program, it fails... It´s not beacuse of missing libs, but somethin else... Could it be the compiler that is´nt up-to-date?

Would appreciate help...

i'd recommend actaully showing us the errors you are having.

trying to install php-4.3.2 on httpd-2.0.45:

ext/ctype/ctype.lo: file not recognized: File truncated

make: *** [libphp4.la] Error 1

u have to do a "make clean" before trying to recompile php
