Unhappy make errors in slack...


Im quite new to linux, and Im using slackware... Thes may sound stupid, bu what the heck? If youre suppose to learn linux, why not learn the best dist? =)

Anyway, about three quarters of every time I try to install (make) a program, it fails... Its not beacuse of missing libs, but somethin else... Could it be the compiler that isnt up-to-date?

Would appreciate help...

i'd recommend actaully showing us the errors you are having.

trying to install php-4.3.2 on httpd-2.0.45:

ext/ctype/ctype.lo: file not recognized: File truncated
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [libphp4.la] Error 1

u have to do a "make clean" before trying to recompile php
