Macro programs for Gnu.

Are the any macros for Linux? What I mean is something that records mouse/keyboard movement and repeats it.

The generic answer is no. You may find that there's
tools for a specific desktop/application that will allow
for that, but since there's such diversity in WM/DE's
and widget sets there's no standardised way of recording
or replaying.

What exactly are you after, though?

Cheers,
Tink

Try this, it looks pretty generic to me:
http://xmacro.sf.net/

(It's not WM/DE specific.)

Linux distributions usually contain some powerful scripting tools, Perl for example. Simple tasks can be automated with Bash shell scripts with virtually no programming experience. KDE even allows running applications to be controlled via DCOP commands. This makes recording mouse movements and key presses often unnecessary. Many applications have, ofcourse, their own macro features.

Simon
