Lubuntu 18.10, LXQt 0.13.0. Please recommend volume control software?

Lubuntu comes defaulted to Pulse Audio.

Unless someone can show me how to keep the volume levels set/locked in the main volume control GUI of Pulse Audio, can you please recommend another package of software?

On my HP Elitebook 8570p, the base level of volume (the little tic set at about the 65% point of the sliders) in the pulse audio GUI is much too low for playback.

I can open Pulse Audio, set the sliders higher, and then go to my video (youtube for instance). Any attempt at this point to adjust the volume either in the online video control itself or with the volume control icon in the lower right tool tray of my screen, resets the sliders in Pulse Audio back to the nominal 65%. Now it's too low for listening again.

Very frustrating,

thanks for any advice.

^ i've seen that complaint many times.
i believe a solution exists, and i also think you should stick to pulseaudio for the time being.
have you searched?
