LOST Mail

For a while now I have been working on getting my first Linux based email server up and running. It is now sending(for sure) and recieving(I think) the problem I have run into is this: I believe I am recieving mail, but I don't know where it's being stored. I have looked through the Qmail configuration files and still and looked in all the default locations.

If it is a normal qmail setup then the /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery file will tell you where it goes normally.

For instance, on my mail server:

Code:
lois control # cat defaultdelivery
|dot-forward .forward
./.maildir/
Now, ignore the dot-forward part unless you have dot-forward installed. The ./.maildir/ (which is qmails default) means it will get delivered into the users maildir.

For instance, if you send mail to joebob@joesdomain.com then the mail should end up in /home/joebob/.maildir/new/. If your users don't have maildir's you'll probably notice lots of error messages in your qmail logs saying the maildirs don't exist. You can create maildirs with maildirmake.
