Logitech mx700 keyboard

Hi all,

Just bought one of these today after my old faithfull died, and i'm having a few problems, I have messed with xev and got keycodes etc, but i'm unsure about how to bind these keys to commands. anyone like to shed some light on this? I've googled about but all i can find are instructions for mapping them with xmodmap.

Also

anyone noticed that Messenger/SMS/Webcam/Shopping/Favorites keys dont give out a keycode when pushed?

thanks

Joel

There is a listing in the HCL that may help.

I have one of these keyboards too; the Bluetooth connecting one.. I too get nice scancodes for most of the keys, yet 4 of the keys do absolutely nothing when I press them. These are the 8 (well, 7 because F-Lock doesn't count) oval-shaped application keys at the top corners of the keyboard. They send these codes according to xev

[[F-Lock]]
Email = 236
Messenger = [nothing]
Web-cam = [nothing]
iTouch = [nothing]
Search = 229
Shopping = [nothing]
Favourites = 230

Also, running "showkey -k" on the /dev/tty1 console gives codes on some of the keys; the ones that work above, yet nothing happens on the others.

Running kernel 2.6.9 using usbkbd, XFree86 version 4.3.0.1
