Locate-like Tool

Hi,
I'm familiar with the locate command on linux but was wondering if there was a more powerful package that, in addition to doing all that locate/slocate do, could also allow me to query all the files for files between certains sizes or greater than certain sizes, or all files created after a certain date, and so on. I know I can do this using find, but I was wondering if it can be done with a locate-like tool to make it much faster. Thanks for your time.

You could do it using combined commands. But it wouldn't be any faster than find.

Thanks. But I was looking for speed. Otherwise I could just use a find. I was thinking of something like the "Windows Indexing Service"

The command "find" can do that, with certain switched of course.

*sorry* I didn't read the other replies, lol. Seems like I repeated what everyone else said!
