lircd.conf file for directv H23 high def receiver

Hi all. It has been a long time since I posted at LQ! I just had to attach the lircd.conf file I generated for directv model H23-600 high def receiver. I played hell for weeks getting this to work with my Mythtv box. Thanks to my new Commandir transceiver + mythbuntu, I was able to generate a working lircd.conf file. I have tested virtually all signals from my mythtv box to the directv receiver and it works. If anyone else out there needs it, enjoy! (by the way, I already e-mailed it to lirc@bartlemus.de as suggested in the config file!)

thanks, I'll try it

Thanks for the posting.

I've also been trying to create a working lirc file from my Directv H23 IR remote. I'm using Knoppmyth R5F27.
Every time I've run IRRECORD, I've gotten a slightly different answer. In my last version the 5 button was never recognized.

I'll give yours a try.

I had the same problem with irrecord, even with the commandir receiver (which works much better than the home made receiver I was trying previously). However, the config file above works. I didn't test every command, but all numbers work plus on, off, select, and enter. I hope it works for you as well.

I used your button codes and they work well with my Directv H23 receiver. I've now got all the bugs and kinks out of my Mythtv system and I am filling up my 1TB hard drive with programs I want to watch but don't have time to watch

It's a nice problem to have, I guess.

Cheers!

Cool. Glad it works for others. I also sent it to the lircd people so they can include it in the list of config files that are included in the software.

What capture card are you using? I'm recording with an old Hauppauge PVR mpeg2 card. I was wondering if there was something better that could keep high definition quality in the recordings.

currently using PVR-150

I am using the Hauppauge PVR-150 card - which is also one of the Hauppauge mpeg2 standard definition capture cards.

The only product I know of for capturing high definition video from a satellite receiver is the Hauppauge HD PVR (model 1212). Currently, it does not have out-of-the-box Mythtv support. Mythtv developers are working on having full support included in the next 0.22 release of Mythtv.
