Unhappy Linux VS Windows affecting Memory

I want to know if any other Linux user had a blue screen come up saying that Windows prevented a big error from happening to your computer. I would switch hard drives and use Linux. While using Mandriva I got this error message, and a Linux user told me that Linux distributes or reads memory in a different manner than Windows.Afterwards my HP Pavilion a705w computer started acting weird. The cooling fan would come on everytime I watched a dvd or streamed a video or even downloaded a movie.I eventually bought a new computer Compaq SR5413WM, and I don't want this computer screwed up.Help Please.

To translate the post above, I don't think he understands your question..........and neither do I.

You need to describe what the configuration of the computer was and what exactly happened---and under what circumstances.

What you describe with the fan may be totally normal---as the demand changes, the cpu runs faster--this in turn increases the need for cooling.

The way you have described things so far, nothing will be solved by having a new computer.
