Linux Scheduler - Redhat 2.4.18


hi, i'm trying to find a step by step guide on how to implement a new scheduling algorithm in linux. i know what algorithm i want to implement, but not which files need to be modified.

if someone could please let me know of some resources, i would greatly appreciate it. thanks!

You havn't really been specific enough ... so I've done a shotgun, see below:

This is the kernel perspective if this is the kind of scheduling you want to do...

i think the second one has what i wanted, i actually reserved the book so i could pick it up today. thanks a lot for the online version!


edit: just to answer your question, i'll be modifying the kernel to implement a new scheduling algorithm
