do you have a static ip or a dhcp assigned address????

For p2p, I run WinMX thorugh wine. It runs perfectly and there's lots of sources at my fingertips.

i use a dhcp assigned address on my home lan, u-tux. does this change how i should do things? is winmx thru wine better/easier? (havent tried using anything in wine yet ) thx for info.

see to it the router is forwarding all the ports that gnutella uses...

I have always used LimeWire and I think it has a very large network. I can find the most random stuff. Plus I don't know what version you were using but the newer ones alow you to search for any thing related to the file including the year published.
