Unhappy Linux installation problem

Hi

Why wont Linux install ?

I am running Windows XP and have created a Ext3 partition to run Linux.
I have down loaded and burnt YellowDog and Knoppix to CD.
I have set my bios to boot 1st from CD but it just keeps booting into Windows (before any one blames the burnning they both work on my sons PC).
Any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

By the way my copy of Slax boots OK.

could be the CDRom them. just because the CDs work on 1 PC, does not mean they will work on an other. there are a lot of older CDRoms out there that do will not boot to a burned CDrom.

take the CDrom out of your sons PC and put it in yours. see if that helps.
