Linux command shell bash for pg

Hi folks...

Can you help or direct me to the equivalent command from SCO Unix to Linux/bash about "pg"

Taken from SCO Unix System V 3.2v4.2
--------------------------------------
Code:
$ man pg

 pg(C) 4 December 1992 pg(C)

 Name

pg - paginate display for soft-copy terminals

 Syntax

    pg [ -number ] [ -p string ] [ -cefns ] [ +linenumber ] [ +/pattern/ ] [ files ... ]

 Description:

The pg command is a filter which allows the examination of files
one screenful at a time on a terminal. (The dash (-) command line
option and/or NULL arguments indicate that pg should read from the
standard input.) Each screenful is followed by a prompt. If you
press the <Return> key, another page is displayed; other possibilities
are listed below. This command is different from previous paginators
because it allows you to back up and review something that has already
 passed.
Thanks in advance.

Is this the command that you are looking for?
This is the man page for pr command.
You can get help for this command with man pr.

What about 'pg' itself?

It is installed standard on my Debian system.

Unless you have special reasons to use 'pg'? It look rather archaic and from a time that a 'soft terminal' was something special as opposed to a teletype.

A better pager might be 'less' which is pretty much standard in all unices.

Sorry by not saying the Linux System. It's RHEL v4.6 x86-64. I tried to

#man pg

but nothing comes out. I will try the "pr" tommorrow.

Thanks guys.
