links in Epiphany not working

Ok I've been using Epiphany for a little while now without any problems. however I suspect that Uni recently upgraded the version they use because I've had to redo the proxy settings and clicking on links no longer works. If you click on a link or a button the browser does nothing. you can right click on a link and select "open link" and that works, but it doesn't work for buttons. Which makes it difficult to login, search etc etc.
